I started vectoring pics in the end of 2008 with Photoshop but after few tries I gave up on it. Fortunately I found Incscape and began vectoring pics with it in the beginning of 2009. Since I managed to finish my first vector(Kyoka) I have been hanging at 4chan /w/ (wallpapers/anime) with nickname Jaaba. I mainly vector pics from series I'm currently watching or I have just finished but I also vector requests I mainly get from /w/.

I recently wrote tutorial for inkscape about vectoring anime. Here are 2 download links:

Ask me in msn(ropedy@hotmail.com) if you want following things:

1) request pic to vector
-Keep them somehow simple and chaste please :)
-I cant guarantee I vector all requests.

2) transparent versions of my vectors.


3) wallpaper with other resolution I have posted it here.
-Changing aspect ratio is probably not so easy for some of my vectors, but doable for majority.

4) ask about how I have done stuff in my pics
-I'm not any kind of Inkscape/Photoshop-guru since vectoring is quite simple process and that is pretty much all what I have been doing. However there is some trick used on some of my pics. For Inkscape screencasts I recommend this site: [link]

Ropedy thanks for the Inkscape vectoring tutorial dude i finally made some vectors out of it, by the way i made some easier way on doing the line art by setting the thickness of the line first to 3 or 4 or 6 as i see fit, then use this technique - [link]

I very much liked your tutorial and i think it's incredibly useful, but in the meantime i was using another technique, that is, stroking with the pencil and then converting in shapes the strokes-do you have ideas on how to convert the method to make it similar to your tutorial?

I'm not sure if I understood your technique right but if I did that's what I was doing when I started vectoring. It is faster and easier way to do the lines but result it gives is kinda dull. Of course this is only my option.

I would try to convert these methods to another since they both are so simple that trying to do combinations would just lead to more complicated method.

I need to thank you for the vectoring tutorial. I thought it was something impossible to do, but thanks to you proved just to be time consuming and difficult :) Soon I will finish my first vector and it wouldn't have happened without you! Domo arigato ^^

En kehtaa ruveta kehumaan erikseen kaikkia töitäsi.
Mielestäni ne ovat kauniin selkeitä. (Kuten vektorikuvat yleensä) Spottasin moniakin hyviä taustakuvia galleriastasi. Ehdottomasti seuraan jatkossakin uusia kuvia joita tulet tänne lisäämään ;)

I'm using my hotmail account just for MSN so it would be totally useless trying to send e-mail there. And actually I rarely use MSN either :P

I haven't really had time to do any vectors lately. I think this is actually first direct vectoring request I receive so I'm at least gonna try it though those eyes worries me a bit.

ETA:2-3 days (I'll try to get it done withing the weekend)
